INVENTORY Menu: Purchasing and Stock Control

The Purchasing and Stock Control modules within Micronet enable you to maintain appropriate levels of inventory to assist in meeting your customers' demand.

Purchase order creation within Micronet can be completed:

Auto-purchasing can be done on a per warehouse basis or for the overall company by combining all the warehouses as one.

Where you want to have manual purchasing, Micronet is equipped with a series of understock and overstock reports and inquiries that suggest recommended levels of stock replenishment.

Micronet is also equipped with built-in security facilities to limit the amount of purchasing control a particular user may be allowed to have, where the quantity or value of orders is checked against set criteria before the order is accepted and the purchase order actually printed.

Micronet enables the purchase of items in an alternative measure to that in which the items are sold, i.e. purchased in tonnes but sold in lineal metres, purchased in pallets but sold in cartons, purchased in cartons and sold in packets, etc. A comprehensive matrix of purchase quantities and how these should be applied (price, volume or weight) can be established.

For companies using the Micronet Job Costing (MJC) system, purchase orders can be created for specific jobs.

During the receipting process, items pre-allocated to jobs or customer backorders are highlighted so that the items can be posted to their default area.

For local purchases, an option exists to include (add) any freight or handling costs to the overall cost of the items being received. Micronet can then appropriate (apportion) these freight costs onto the overall received price of the items.

Micronet also comes complete with an integrated multi-currency Import Costing module. Orders from one or many suppliers can be receipted via an import costing batch where Micronet retains all the item costs, duty rates, sales taxes applicable, and handling and shipping fees for the appropriation of those fees across the entire shipment. The shipping/handling fees can be appropriated by item cost, volume or weight.
